Down The Shore Shawl

Down The Shore is a generously sized garter stitch shawl, with an elegant lace border.

Finished size (after blocking) is 62” across the top edge, and 22” long (from top edge to bottom point).

Instructions are clearly written for this shawl, which is knit from the top down. The main body is worked in garter stitch, with a classic lace border along the bottom edge.

Required skills include casting on, knitting, purling, increasing (kfb and yo), decreasing (k2tog) and binding off.

Down The Shore can be knit with a single color, or two colors with wide color block stripes.
The single color version was knit with 2 skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh DK in Rose.
The two color version was knit with Malabrigo Rios - 2 skeins of Arco Iris (main color), and 1 skein of Magenta (contrast color).

Recommended needles - size 8 circular (24 and 40” length).
Recommended gauge is 4 stitches per inch in garter stitch.
Exact gauge is not critical for fit, but will affect finished size and amount of yarn used.
