Easy Aran Kids Pullover

Pattern Details
The Easy Aran Kids Pullover is a unisex worsted weight sweater, designed with easy cables and moss stitch.
The sweater looks complicated, but is quite easy to knit.
The pattern is simple and repetitive, and there is minimal shaping required. Instructions are clearly written.

Construction Details
Sweater back and front are knit separately, and joined at the shoulders using a 3 needle bind off.
Sleeve stitches are picked up along the the armhole edge, and knit down to the cuff.
Stitches are picked up around the neck, and the neckband is knit in the round.

400-800 yds worsted weight yarn
Needles
size 6, straight or circular (for ribbing)
size 8, straight or circular (for body)
size 6, 16” circular (for neckband)

cable needle, stitch markers, stitch holders, row counter, tapestry needle

Gauge
18 stitches = 4” in stockinette stitch, using the larger needles.
Note: Although the sweater is knit with textured stitches (cables and moss stitch), the gauge is determined by knitting a stockinette stitch swatch, for ease in determining appropriate sized needles.
Change needles size as necessary, for accurate gauge!

Required skills
Casting on, knitting, purling, basic cable knitting, increasing (m1), decreasing (k2tog and ssk), binding off, picking up and knitting stitches, 3 needle bind off and seaming.
