Journey Baby and Toddler Vest

Pattern Details
The Journey Baby and Toddler Vest is a DK weight, garter stitch, V-neck cardigan vest.

Construction Details
Vest back and fronts are knit separately, and joined at the shoulders using a 3 needle bind off.
The vest is knit entirely in garter stitch. Stitches are picked up and knit along the front edges for a simple garter stitch buttonband, with instructions for a single buttonhole on the front edge.

Samples were knit with Hayfield Journey yarn.
Needles
size 5 needles
Note: The body pieces (back and fronts) are knit flat, so you may use straight or circular needles. However, you will need a 24-32” circular needle (size 5) for the neckband, to accommodate the number of stitches.
Misc
stitch markers, row counter, tapestry needle, 1 button

Gauge
20 stitches = 4” in garter stitch.
Change needles size as necessary, for accurate gauge!

Casting on, knitting, binding off, decreasing (k2tog and ssk), increasing (yo), picking up and knitting stitches, 3 needle bind off, and seaming.
